Saratoga Springs Thoroughbred racing at Saratoga Race Course turned 150 years old Saturday, but some say it's the next four months that could determine the industry's future. As horse racing in New York fights sagging attendance at tracks and the state reconstitutes the New York Racing Association, the sport now faces a fresh hurdle Nov. 5, when the public votes to expand casino gambling upstate. The measure would authorize card and table games at four sites, including one in the Capital Region.
